Froot bootin’ and plank pushin’

Hard ChargersStill taking it pretty easy. We’ve been doing things like checking out malls and planning our onward journey. It has been educational and is coming along swimmingly. I’ve been eating a lot of apples and playing less candy crush. Holly has been honing her photo skills and kicking my tail whenever we play cards. Last night we made dinner with our final $100ARG and watched another episode of Lonesome Dove. It was very special. Today we re-upped on pesos and cellphone minutes and headed to the park with SP. We drank mate like gringos and it was great. Usually people have thermoses. We, instead, took Styrofoam cups full of boiling water and found a place to watch people rollerblade. To me, mate tastes pretty much like a very earthy green tea. I got no appreciable buzz, but it did settle my empty tummy a little. We also bought some rather delightful alfajores to go with the mate and had just the most authentic Argentinian park session. We finished strongly by renting roller skates – I, Brent Fink, rented a skateboard- and rolling around the park for half an hour. Also, if you are just starting to learn how to skateboard, you should move to Buenos Aires. You will fit right in. After showing all the noobs how to rip and Holly quasi-abducting a little girl, we returned our excellent rental equipment to the nice people and moved along to MALBA, or the Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires. It was nice but for whatever reason it was about 1/5 open. Only a couple exhibits… But it’s cool, Holly and I got in half off because I jumped the railing and outran the guards. Actually, we got in half off because I use my super sweet Samsung cellphone and they were running some promotion. Regardless, it was great/small. We wound up eating a little pizza and drank some beers before heading to a muy authentico Argentinian asado to watch……… the NBA finals! We ate chorizo, a little lomo, and drank wine for probably too long. Tomorrow will likely be a slow day. We might run pick up some ferry tickets to Uruguay, but time will tell. And we still need to make our plans for our next stop. We’re thinking Mendoza.

I know Miami won. Also, I am envious of the skateboard culture here. I miss it. And Holly only abducted that girl to avoid running her over on roller blades; both parties are fine.
