Things have run as usual here in Andeslands for the past few days. Our days have been spent updating one of the guest rooms with some deep cleaning and fresh paint. Our nights have been spent in the kitchen by the furnance. Brent has been digesting every cookbook he can get his hands on and honing his bread making skills while I’ve been exhausting the Rough Guide to South America and arguing with myself over our next destination. To Patagonia in winter, or not to Patagonia in winter…
Tonight, we had the chance to break away from the normalcy of cook books and travel guides and joined some of Michael and Vicky’s friends (John and Annette) for dinner. Naturally, Brent baked a loaf of bread. A nice big hunk of spicy parmesean bread with chia seeds.
We arrived at their finca to find some awesome chinese food in the works. While waiting on the grub, we indulged in some beer, some yummy sesame soy bread, and some incredible worldly tales from John and Annette’s 3 years traveling the globe via motorcycle. Needless to say the conversation and company was great and it was a night well spent in San Rafael. Obviously the conversation about exotic places only fed my recent planning addiction and kept me awake dreaming of what our next destination could be…
