I was writing something else but decided to delete it and just give the summary. Overall, in La Serena we stayed in an awesome hostel with bad lockers (the whole tumbler mechanism fell out, I broke into my own locker with a spatula), the weather was crumby, but breakfasts were really good. We then continued on to the Elqui Valley where we stayed in ¨Observatory Domes¨ and we got sick. Afterwards, we went back to La Serena were the weather was perfect but we were just passing through on our way to the Atacama Desert. Roughly, beautiful places muted by bad weather and bad stomachs. After six months of relatively flawless travel, it was time to pay our dues. No regrets
